For his latest album, "My Beautiful, Dark, Twisted Fantasy" Kanye West called all sorts of artists to join him in the studio. The likely heavyweights Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Kid CuDi are present on the album, along with some other, less predictable, contributors. The combination that I was most intrigued by was his track with indie band Bon Iver. It seemed like opposite genres were colliding, and it was either a recipe for disaster or a genius collaboration that could redefine boundaries between genres. In this case, it was a (very) pleasant surprise! Bon Iver's smooth voice and cool beats compliment Kanye's harsh verses to create a truly great song. The Imogen-Heap-esque intro repeats throughout, backed by the tribal-sounding beats that Kanye is known for. However, Kanye's verses are not his best - I think that soon he'll tire of rapping and become solely a producer. He is immensely talented at creating hits as proven by 'Run This Town' by Rihanna & Jay Z, 'Find Your Love' by Drake, and 'Stand Up' by Ludacris, just to name a few. Though this artist combination is very unlikely, it paved the way for crossovers, and I still can't get it out of my head. See what you think!
Here it is, "Lost in the World" by Kanye West & Bon Iver. Enjoy!

Red, White, & Blue
July 4th = party. Whether with friends or family, this is going to be a night full of food, fun, and fireworks. But what about fashion?
It can be difficult to pick out an outfit for the 4th, as level of dress is rarely specified for these type of events, and you want to look patriotic, but not tacky.
Here's an outfit that i'm wearing to a family beach party tonight. It gives off that classy, American look, so its perfect to wear to any summer's eve event, anywhere.

White Empire Wait Dress, Target $22

Red Belt from ModCloth, $18

Cropped Pointelle Cardigan, Old Navy $22.50

Dali Bow Heels, Forever 21 $20
Accessories

Favorite Sating Bow Headband, For Love 21, $1.50

Anchors Away Necklace, For Love 21, $6.80
Personally, i'm going to leave out the cardigan tonight because its a million degrees here, but its there for a more appropriate, and warm, outfit.
The best part about this outfit? They're all staple items. A simple white dress can be re-worn every summer, red pumps are just a necessity for any girl, and a navy blue cardigan is great anytime of year.
Enjoy the fireworks!

Alice
Annie Leibovitz is obviously an awesome photographer, but her Alice series is especially fabulous. It showcases haute couture blue dresses, set in whimsical Alice in Wonderland inspired scenes. And to top it off, Natalia Vodianova look so fresh and absolutely stunning. Two of my favorites:
Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum in Viktor & Rolf, Alice in same

"Queen" of Hearts in John Galliano for Dior, Alice in same
